All my events for the remainder of the year end before 7:00 pm, and the other events have been postponed. So, I'm excited to launch the new DJ Evan's Dedication Show every Saturday night from 9:00pm - 10:30pm. Each show will be dedicated to a group of people, and the music will reflect and pay tribute to that group. For instance, the show on September the 19th will be dedicated to all those workout warriors rocking in the gym, on the trails, or playing on the fields. Think football locker room before the game. It might get a bit intense, and I may have to bring out my inner Tommy Lee if you catch my meaning. Preshow lobby will open at 8:30pm. I will post the weekly access link on my Facebook page. Just search for "red sapphire dj" on Facebook, and click on the site link.

I'm so proud to be presenting my Vendor Card webpage on this site. I've always had this idea in mind, and I should have started it much earlier. I've worked with so many people in the past twenty-plus years. Each one of these cards represents a story we've shared together, and they are so special to me. I receive between 10 and 50 visitors to my site each day, and it's time for me to give back especially at a tricky time in America.
So, no strings attached. I won't charge for the post. I won't place one vendor over another. I won't comment on performance. I won't ask for anything in return. It's just good wholesome recognition for having the courage to do what wedding industry professionals do. And, to hopefully help out my site visitors that may need to locate someone in a certain field.

I want to thank all the amazing guests who stopped by for the virtual prom. Congratulations to all the 2020 graduates!!

These customized layouts are great. Clients start out with a package, and can develop a unique concept with their own ideas. I do this all the time especially with schools, and companies that want a different look each year. Some companies need a lighting guy, an MC, a DJ, and two assistants to do something like this. Guess who pays for that inefficiency?

These students rocked the house last weekend! The system was bumpin', and lights were waaaaaay cool. This party was in conjunction with three high schools. I was able to to catch a photo at just the right time when the lush colors were displayed by the moving heads. I've done this event for this group for the past 6 years now.

We've been doing customized monograms for about 12 years now, and I still can't get over how cool they look. There's just something so satisfying withow the designs come out.

When we think back on the stories of kings and queens we can't help but picture the celebration of two people getting married. Where did these huge and festive events take place? These took place at the family castle with all the friends, family, and nobility. There were no limits on guest count. The food and drinks were wonderful and plenty. The laughter and smiles were abundant. And, people felt the freedom of the open air.
This event had that same charm. This home is the family castle set with all the amenities of an amazing wedding day. Excellent catering, bar service, swimming pool, and flowers. We rounded it out with a dance floor, wedding ceremony sound, and DJ music. Consider your own castle as your event space; happiness is not far from home.

Too much fun for words at this karaoke event. I received a funny compliment at this one. A gentlemen came up to me and said, "You know you ruined it for us this evening." I asked him with a smile, "what for?" He then said, "Now we can't have anyone else do karaoke for us again." We both laughed from our bellies. It's like Plato's Allegory of the Cave; once you've seen it happen, you can't go back.

There are amazing hidden gems all around New Mexico where you can have your wedding. The most majestic and beautiful places are not immediately visible like hotels, and casinos seen while driving on the interstate highway. I've found that the best folks to work with are from these hidden gems because they don't take anyone for granted. The huge hotels and casinos will never have problems booking events because people are exposed to them all the time, and most people don't like to research too much. But, do yourself and guests a favor, and look deeper into the venues available. After many years as a DJ, the events I remember most are house weddings, boutique style event halls, and outdoor events.

All finished with prom and graduation seasons for the year. These graduates coming out are pretty darn amazing. Many have these off the chart grade point averages, are star athletes, and are off to colleges all over the country and world for that matter. It's such an exciting time for them, and I pray that all of them stay safe, and continue to flourish in what they decide to pursue. Here's a picture of the system used for a graduate with an awesome family. Fog blasters rule!!

I just recently performed at this basketball game for the Special Olympics hearing impaired. This event deeply touched my heart. It was such an honor to see these amazing teachers and counselors helping along the kids to hit their shots. A few of the kids had moves like Curry for sure. This event was touched by a higher power, and these moments remind me why I do this.

This Winter Ball was a blast. They told me that they sold 300 more tickets this year than they had anticipated which was already projected at 500. Even kids from other schools picked to go to this one instead of their own Winter Ball. I guess some people had major FOMO.

We've been doing video screens for many years now, and I just can't get over how cool they look. They can be used for music video display, visualizer programs, PowerPoint presentations, video presentations, logo displays, and other things. We have multiple packages, so people know exactly what they are getting for the price. And, you can always fully customize and create your environment with all kinds of advanced options that we offer.

Not all venues are equal so to speak, and that is a great thing because there are so many people with different personalities and tastes. The key to picking a venue is to ask, "Would this venue fit my personality?" These clients are from Boston, so they went with a place that has a more wooden sort of speakeasy type of atmosphere. Being there felt like you were part of this secret underground party being held by people from the roaring 20s. They had the wedding ceremony at a gorgeous location nestled in the mountains, so you also had the elegance there.
Places like this bring out personalities, and let people loosen up. I love these venues that have deep histories where some claim that a ghost lives in one of the hotel rooms, that it was a former hideout for mobsters, or that old movies were filmed there. Some places are huge, and can hold tons of people, and those can be just as fun so long as it fits your personality.
I did another event this year where the clients were scary movie fans, and they had their wedding at a former psychiatric facility which had been remodeled. These types of venue decisions are one the best ways to make people remember your event because people generally associate things in groups. Sometimes if a venue, a photographer, DJ, or wedding officiant doesn't really fit into your framework of ideas it can seem disjointed.
Sometimes I meet with a potential client, and they may say that this other DJ offered to do my event for 10% off whatever you quote me. I then will ask, "Is the owner of the DJ company doing your event?" When they reply, "no," then it throws the framework into limbo. You will constantly be asking, "Who is going to really DJ my event, and what is their personality going to be?" That's why you can never go off the idea that you can match services. Just like you can't match the service provided from one doctor to another; you can't match the service provided from one DJ to another. We all have different styles, abilities, and personalities. The key to all of this is to make sure to match up those personalities with your own, so that you can achieve that "flow-state" for the event.
The beauty of my position being the owner who DJs all the events is that people get what they see. I don't have to force my way into doing an event for someone like the multi-op companies do just to fill a spot on the calendar. If a client meets with me and they get a feeling like my prices are too low, too high, our personalities don't align, or for whatever reason, then I don't take it personally at all. The relationships and marriages that I see last are those where it's not forced; these two people come together in a natural way. This is the same way you should look at how to pick a venue, and any other vendor for that matter.
Thanks for reading.
